TLOS
Son of the oldest settlement sites of the Lycian province,
Tlos, is located 7,4 miles (12km) to Kemer. The name of
city appears as TLAWA in the Lycian inscription and the
14th century. B.C. Hittite documents mention it is "DALAWA
ON THE LAND OF LUKKA". The Acropolis is located on a hill
with a steep cliff on the north-east.
At the summit there is acastle belonging to the Ottoman
period and hufiBgafl of the older remains from sight, thought
to have been built by Kanh Ali Aga who dominated the place
in the 14th century Bekw the hill on the east slopes there
are the ruins of walls built in the Lycian period, and in
the south there is a city wall which is one of the best
examples of the wall style during the Roman period. On the
same hill there are also groups of Lycian style rock tombs.
